This buttercream frosting only only six basic ingredients and comes together quickly. This recipe makes enough frosting for a gorgeous three-layer cake or three cupcakes.
INGREDIENTS
- 1 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 1/2 cups of softened butter
- 5 cups of confectioners sugar.
- 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon of espresso powder
- 1/2 cup of milk.
PROCEDURE
In a sizable basin or the bowl of a stand mixer, add cocoa powder. To get rid of any lumps, whisk thoroughly.
STEP 2
Butter and chocolate powder should be thoroughly mixed.
STEP 3
1 cup of sugar and around a spoonful of milk should be added to the cocoa mixture. Turn the mixer to high speed and leave it there for about a minute after each addition has been mixed. Continue until all of the milk and sugar have been incorporated.
STEP 4
Blend in the espresso powder and vanilla extract.
STEP 5
If the frosting seems too dry, gradually add more milk, one tablespoon at a time, until the desired consistency is achieved. Add additional confectioner's sugar, a tablespoon at a time, until it achieves the proper consistency if it seems too wet and doesn't maintain its shape.
